Sana’a – Yemeni physician Isra’ Waheeb Al‑Sharabi, a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Science and Technology (UST), has been awarded a prestigious PhD scholarship through a joint academic program between St George’s, University of London, and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)—two of the world’s leading institutions in medical education and scientific research.

Dr. Al‑Sharabi is a graduate of the 19th cohort (2018–2019) of UST’s Faculty of Medicine. She currently works at St George’s, University of London, and previously earned a Master’s degree in Community Medicine and Public Health (Maternal and Child Health) from King’s College London.
In this context, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at UST, Dr. Abdullah Al‑Mukhlafi, expressed his pride in this outstanding achievement, praising the excellence of the Faculty’s graduates in international arenas.
Dr. Al‑Mukhlafi stated: “How wonderful it is to receive news of our graduates’ successes. I extend my sincere congratulations to our daughter and graduate, Dr. Isra’ Waheeb Al‑Sharabi, on receiving a PhD scholarship through a partnership between two of the most prestigious medical education institutions in the United Kingdom and worldwide.”
