Sana’a – The University of Science and Technology (UST) today welcomed specialized committees from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research as part of field visits aimed at verifying the fulfillment of requirements for launching new postgraduate programs across several university faculties.

The visit focused on evaluating the academic, administrative, and technical aspects related to opening postgraduate programs at the Faculty of Dentistry, including the Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics Program and the Restorative Dentistry Program. The committees also reviewed the requirements for opening a PhD program in Computing at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology.
During the visit, the committees met with the University President, Prof. Al‑Qasim Mohammed Abbas, who affirmed UST’s commitment to all standards of quality and academic accreditation, and to providing an integrated educational and research environment that supports the development of postgraduate programs, responds to labor‑market needs, and serves the community.
Accompanied by the Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Ibrahim Al‑Sheikh, the Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, Prof. Bilal Al‑Fuhaydi, and the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Olfat Al‑Bahri, the committees conducted a comprehensive tour that included classrooms, laboratories, teaching clinics, and specialized facilities. They also reviewed study plans, academic regulations, faculty qualifications, and the infrastructure supporting both teaching and research.
The committees expressed their appreciation for the advanced level of facilities, infrastructure, academic organization, and integration of educational and research resources, noting that UST has made significant progress in establishing a suitable environment for launching postgraduate programs in accordance with ministry‑approved standards.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committees commended the efforts of the university’s leadership and its academic and administrative teams, praising UST’s commitment to enhancing its educational and research programs and keeping pace with modern scientific developments—an effort that contributes to preparing specialized scientific competencies capable of supporting national development and meeting future needs.
