Sana’a — The University of Science and Technology (UST) hosted a distinguished academic ceremony today to honor the 25th cohort of graduates from its Medicine and Surgery program, known as the “Silver Jubilee Doctors.” The event drew university leaders, faculty members, and a large gathering of families.
In his remarks, Vice President of UST, Prof. Nu‘man Al‑Nijjar, congratulated the graduates and their families, praising the cohort’s academic and professional excellence. He expressed pride in UST’s role in preparing a new generation of doctors to serve society and strengthen Yemen’s healthcare sector.
Prof. Al‑Nijjar encouraged the graduates to pursue postgraduate studies and research, noting that UST has recently launched a Clinical Doctorate (MD) program as part of its expansion in advanced medical education. He stressed the importance of upholding humanitarian values and medical ethics to build trust between physicians and the community.
The ceremony included the graduates’ recitation of the “Physician’s Oath,” recognition of the College of Medicine faculty for their teaching and training efforts, and honors for administrative staff, sponsors, and supporters.
Attendees included Dr. Suzan Al‑Harwi, Dean of the Women’s Branch, Dr. Mahdi Al‑Qurwani, Deputy Dean of the College of Medicine for Clinical Training and Hospitals, along with faculty members and representatives from student affairs.
