Sana’a – The College of Computers and Information Technology at the University of Science and Technology (UST) organized a specialized workshop to review and approve the Program Specification Document for the Bachelor’s Program in Film Production and Animation, as part of the College’s efforts to develop high-quality academic programs that keep pace with modern developments and labor market needs in digital and creative fields.
At the opening of the workshop, the Dean of the College, Prof. Bilal Al‑Fahidi, emphasized the importance of launching the Bachelor’s Program in Film Production and Animation, noting that the program represents a qualitative addition to modern academic offerings that respond to the requirements of digital transformation and the growing creative industries.
He explained that the program comes in response to the rapid development in media production, animation, and digital content creation, and the increasing demand in these sectors for qualified professionals capable of integrating technical expertise with creative skills.
Prof. Al‑Fahidi also noted that the program was designed in accordance with the international NASAD standards for design, graphics, film production, and animation, contributing to the preparation of qualified graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in film production, animation, digital design, and visual content creation.
The workshop, attended by representatives of the Academic Accreditation Council, academic experts from inside and outside the University, and graduates of related programs, addressed the review and approval of several key components of the program specification document. These included the program mission and objectives, study system, graduate attributes, intended learning outcomes, as well as discussions of the curriculum and associated academic and applied courses.
The workshop also featured in-depth academic discussions on mechanisms for developing the program to ensure its alignment with contemporary trends in film production and animation, and to enhance the practical and applied aspects of the educational process. This approach aims to prepare graduates with professional skills capable of meeting the needs of the local and regional labor markets.
Participants emphasized the importance of the program in opening new horizons for students in the fields of digital creativity and media production, and in enhancing their professional opportunities in sectors experiencing rapid global growth.
The workshop forms part of the College’s broader direction toward developing specialized academic programs that support innovation and creativity and keep pace with modern technological changes in the fields of computing, information technology, and digital industries.
