Today, Sat., July 26, 2025, the Council of the university’s branches held its 1st annual meeting for the academic year 1447H, corresponding to 2025 under the chairmanship of the university rector, Prof. Dr. Al-Qasim Mohammed Abbas. The meeting aimed to discuss the action plans, needs, and requirements of the educational process in the university branches located in the provinces (Hodeida, Taiz, Alhawban, Ibb).

At the beginning of the meeting, the University Rector emphasized the importance of this annual meeting in achieving coordination and integration between the branches and the main campus in Sana’a, consolidating efforts to develop the educational process, and identifying and meeting challenges and requirements

The rector also stressed the university leadership’s commitment to providing the necessary support to enhance performance, achieve the university’s vision and mission, and develop academic and administrative performance in line with quality and accreditation standards.

For his part, the Director of the USTY Branches, Dr. Nasr Al-Ahmadi reviewed the meeting agenda and expressed his thankfulness to the university leadership for its attention and support in organizing this meeting. This meeting aimed to define the needs, concerns, and aspirations of the branches, as well as to address the problems and work to resolve them promptly.

Al-Ahmadi presented the performance report for the past year (1446 AH) and the most common challenges and development proposals for the current year (1447 AH).

During the meeting, the university rector, Prof. Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas, listened to brief reports from the branch directors: Dr. Moaz Abdul Salam, Director of Taiz-Al-Hawban Branches; Dr. Muhammad Al-Laymah, Director of Hodeidah Branch; and Dr. Makram Al-Jamali, Director of Ibb Branch. They reviewed brief reports on the admission and registration process and the commencement of the first semester of the current academic year, highlighting the most prominent concerns, needs, and development plans at the branches.

The meeting also addressed the concerns and needs of the university’s applied colleges and consultation and development centers in the governorates.

The meeting included the presence of the Vice Rector, Prof. Abdul Latef Musleh; Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Faisal Hazza; Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Ismail Al-Sharabi; Dean of Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Amin Al-Kustaban; Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Abdullah Al-Mikhlafi; and the directors of relevant departments.
